Kansas volleyball players honored again

Kansas University sophomore Tiana Dockery and fifth-year senior Caroline Jarmoc were named the Big 12 Conference’s offensive and defensive players of the week on Monday.

KU players have won six Big 12 player-of-the-week honors in four weeks.

“It’s great to see them earn honors like these and they deserve it,” KU coach Ray Bechard said. “But, obviously, it goes back to our team having success and staying focused on each match. (Tiana) Dockery has certainly found a rhythm and (Caroline) Jarmoc’s blocking numbers are always impressive. We’re proud of them.”

Dockery had 14 kills and a .406 attack percentage in the Jayhawks’ league-opening victory over TCU on Saturday.

Jarmoc blocked eight attacks against the Horned Frogs, and she ranks third in the league in blocks per set (1.31).

KU will travel Wednesday to Kansas State. Match time is 7 p.m.
