Just in time for its clash with top-ranked Shawnee Mission West, Free State High’s football team moved up to No. 2 in the latest Class 6A rankings from Kpreps.com.

The No. 1 Vikings (3-0) visit the Firebirds (3-0) at 7 p.m. Friday at FSHS.

Rounding out 6A’s top five are No. 3 Derby (2-1), No. 4 Hutchinson (2-1) and No. 5 Topeka (3-0).

In the 4A Kpreps.com rankings, Baldwin (3-0) is No. 3 and Eudora (3-0) is No. 4. Holton (3-0) tops the list, followed by No. 2 Andale (3-0). Buhler (3-0) is ranked fifth.
