Lawrence author Donna Frantz, who writes under the name “Abue,” is planning a signing for her latest children’s book in the Silly Gilly Gil series, “Gay L-U-V.”

The signing is set for 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Toy Store, 936 Massachusetts St.

“Gay L-U-V,” according to the author, features age-appropriate conversation between Gil and his friends about the fact that one of them lives in a family with two moms. Frantz says she hopes the book will invite parents, teachers and all adults to approach the subject as Gil does, with an open mind and heart.

Frantz’s previous Silly Gilly Gil books are “Best Buddies,” “Bullying Hurts” and “Grandpa Harley’s Funeral.” “Gay L-U-V,” published by Mind Body Spirit Press, is illustrated by Gabriel Evans.
