Topeka ? Former Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan will headline two fundraisers next week for Gov. Sam Brownback’s re-election campaign.

Ryan, a Republican from Wisconsin and chairman of the House Budget Committee, will be the special guest at fundraisers on Sept. 25 at the Wichita Petroleum Club and at a private home in Mission Hills.

The donations will go to the campaign of Brownback and Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer, who are running for re-election in 2014, and to the Kansas Republican Party.

Ryan was the GOP’s 2012 nominee for vice president, running with presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
