— Former Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan will headline two fundraisers next week for Gov. Sam Brownback's re-election campaign.

Ryan, a Republican from Wisconsin and chairman of the House Budget Committee, will be the special guest at fundraisers on Sept. 25 at the Wichita Petroleum Club and at a private home in Mission Hills.

The donations will go to the campaign of Brownback and Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer, who are running for re-election in 2014, and to the Kansas Republican Party.

Ryan was the GOP's 2012 nominee for vice president, running with presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Why does Brownback need fundraisers? Have the Koch brothers gone broke?

Every once in a while they still like to see them sing a song about tax cuts and juggle with plates balanced on their noses.

Interesting that I had to answer a question about depression before reading an article about Brownback and Ryan. They are why I'm depressed.

This is a good move on Brownback's part given that he has taken nearly all of the "spare" change out of the lower and middle class pockets to fund a tax break for the wealthy. He has to appeal to the few super wealthy in the state to keep funding his campaigns. They're the only ones with money to spare. Well played Brownback, well played indeed.

Paul Ryan is also of the ALEC mindset and a man who backs reducing wages for the American workers. Why else would a right wing big government support busting Unions? Ryan and Brownback are members of the Radical Right Wing ALEC Party which makes neither a republican.

Paul Ryan like Brownback is all for killing Social Security Insurance and Medicare Insurance as well just like Brownback.

Social Security does not add to the debt and the USA has 20 years to make adjustments.

--- Killing Social Security Insurance Is Not An Option. This would add billions to the debt a put the economy at yet a larger risk. http://www.dollarsandsense.org/archives/2010/0111orr.html

--- SSI Not Going Broke. That's right nothing but political rhetoric. http://www.truthdig.com/eartotheground/item/david_cay_johnston_social_security_is_not_going_broke_20120504/

--- The Paul Ryan plan for killing Medicare Insurance is simply not an option. Users are paying. http://www.thenation.com/article/159769/paul-ryans-plan-destroy-medicare

--- INSTEAD we improve medicare insurance to reduce the cost of government. Bingo! Physicians for a National Health Program http://www.pnhp.org/facts/single-payer-resources http://www.healthcare-now.org

Brownback brings in the reckless GOP beltway mentality.

Why did the GOP Deliberately crash the USA economy? http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/jun/09/did-republicans-deliberately-crash-us-economy

I wish someone could tell me ONE tangible thing Brownback has accomplished to improve the lives of Kansas citizens. I would really like to know.

Birdbrains of a feather certainly do flock together. As long as Kansans keep voting against their best interests, we will remain in this downward spiral of the middle and lower classes, including children, women, seniors, disabled and the disadvantaged.
