Seabury’s volleyball season ends at sub-state

? Bishop Seabury Academy’s volleyball season ended with a loss to Leavenworth Immaculata on Saturday at Class 2A sub-state.

The Seahawks lost, 25-16, 25-17, and finished the year with a 12-21 record.

Sophomore Ellen Almanza led Seabury with five kills and three digs. Junior Reilly Malone had four kills, three digs and two aces; sophomore Taylor Hodge had seven digs to go along with three kills and two aces; and sophomore Regan Zaremba tallied eight assists and three digs. Freshman Celia Taylor added five assists, one kill and one ace.

Seabury coach Chrissy Leuty said she was encouraged by the performance of her young squad, which will return next season with everyone except senior Mariah Smith.
