Topeka ? Veritas Christian went 3-1 and placed second Saturday in the Cair Paravel volleyball tourney.

Veritas defeated Topeka Cornerstone, 25-14, 25-15, Cair Paravel, 21-25, 25-19, 15-13, and Topeka Heritage, 25-22, 25-19, before falling to WAHAA, 15-13, 11-25, 17-15.

For Veritas, senior Teri Huslig had 11 aces, four blocks, 25 assists and 43 kills; junior Lacey Billings had nine blocks, 34 assists and 34 kills; and freshman Alyssa Krestan had 34 digs and four aces.

Veritas (27-6) will play in the state tournament Oct. 26 in Wichita.
