Lenexa ? Lawrence High’s Nathan Pederson took first place among sophomore boys in the Shawnee Mission West Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at Shawnee Mission Park. Pederson finished the 5K race in 17:40.0.

No team scores were kept, and individual placing were determined by class.

Other leaders for the LHS boys were senior Andy Freeman in third place (17:41.0), junior Keegan Matheis in fourth (17:40.0) and freshman Garrett Prescott in 11th (18:59.0).

Lawrence High leaders in the 4K girls race were senior Laura Neilsen in third (16:45.0), junior Riley Shook sixth (17:42.0), sophomore Shaye White 19th (18:55.0) and freshman Christina Cho 13th (18:59.0).
