KU men’s golf finishes second at Madison

? Freshman Chase Hanna tied for fifth place and sophomore Jackson Foth tied for 10th to lead Kansas University’s men’s golf team to a runner-up finish on Tuesday at the Badger Invitational.

Hanna carded a 71-73-72–216 (even-par) and Foth a 73-72-75–220 (+4) as KU finished 24 strokes back of champion South Carolina.

“It’s great to have a freshman play well, especially as early as his fourth, fifth and sixth collegiate rounds,” Kansas coach Jamie Bermel said. “And I’m happy for Jackson. He got in the lineup a little bit last year and now he’s really starting to feel a little more comfortable out there. He hits the ball pretty high and it was windy the past couple days, but he managed to stay in there.”
