A 34-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man is being held at the Douglas County Jail without bond on a federal warrant for the distribution of narcotics.

Federico Castro Mongeau Samuel was booked into the jail a little after 7 p.m. Monday after a Lawrence police officer arrested him in the 1300 block of Kasold Drive.

Sgt. Trent McKinley, a Lawrence Police Department spokesman, said an officer on patrol observed Samuel, known to have an active federal warrant related to drug distribution, and placed him in custody following a car stop.

So this office just happened to recognize someone not from around here who had an outstanding warrant?? Why do I think there was more behind the story than this. Regardless, glad he was found.

Criminals are not heroic, no energetic so movement towards Lawrence should not be viewed with open mouth.

You do the math, or sociology, drug selling creeps love this area, not only looked upon as a suppressed minority, this means almost laughable ability to sell and do crimes, without worry about being checked.

Never ever seen so many work aged young men (black-white) just wondering around 10-4 o'clock East West North and South of our wonderful little city.

Good grief, you know what's going on.
