The city of Lawrence will collect new, unwrapped toys and nonperishable foods for donation on Dec. 2 and 9.

The collection will occur in conjunction with regularly scheduled yard waste collection. Donors are asked to set out their items for donation next to their yard waste either day.

All toys will be given the Lawrence Police Department’s Blue Santa Program and all food will go to Just Food.

Those who do not want to set such items on the curb, or do not have a yard waste collection, are asked to drop them off at Just Food, at 1000 E. 11th St., or any Toys 4 Tots collection bin, the locations of which can be found at http://lawrence-ks.toysfortots.org.

If yard waste collection is canceled on either of the designated days, the donation collection will also not occur. More information can be found at www.lawrenceks.org/swm.
