U.S. Highway 40 has been closed west of Kansas Highway 10 following a one-vehicle injury accident earlier this morning.

According to Douglas County dispatchers, a Lawrence police officer arrived at the scene of a one vehicle accident in the 800 block of U.S. Highway 40 at 8:06 a.m. The driver was able to exit the car on their own, but was eventually taken to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka with minor injuries.
