Lawrence police are investigating an early Saturday morning report of shots fired in North Lawrence.

Police said that officers responded to several calls referencing “five or six” shots being fired and two cars speeding off in different directions at around 2 a.m. in the 400 block of North Street, the location of the Harper Woods/Riverside Mobile Home Community. A crime scene investigator collected multiple bullet casings, but found no damage to any vehicles in the park. Area hospitals report no patients arriving with gunshot wounds.

Residents told police a white car that drove away from the scene would be likely to have damage, but as of late Saturday morning police have not located the vehicle or identified suspects.
