Filmmaker John Waters coming to Lawrence Arts Center

Filmmaker John Waters will appear at the Lawrence Arts Center on Feb. 20 as part of a series of events related to an exhibition on the writer William S. Burroughs.

Waters is famous for a series of cult films in the 1970s and 1980s. Two of his films, “Hairspray” and “Cry-Baby,” have been adapted for the stage and received several Tony Awards and nominations.

Tickets cost $25 and go on sale Nov. 18.
