Kansas’ Jarmoc up for award

Kansas University fifth-year senior Caroline Jarmoc earned one of the final 10 candidate spots to be considered for the 2013 Senior CLASS Award in collegiate volleyball.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Div. I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence — community, classroom, character and competition. Jarmoc is the first Jayhawk to be named to the Senior CLASS candidacy during the 2013-14 school year.

The Calgary, Alberta, Canada native is one of only two Big 12 volleyball players remaining. Texas senior outside hitter Bailey Webster joins her on the list.

Jarmoc’s is one of 10 names that will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one candidate.

The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2013 NCAA Div. I Women’s Volleyball Championship in December.
