Police on Tuesday were called to a burglary in the 400 block of Rockledge Road. Sgt. Craig Shanks said a resident called when he had arrived home and found the doors to the house open but did not know whether burglars were still inside the house. When officers arrived, the residents said they’d seen two individuals leave the house and go north toward McDonald Drive and the Lawrence Country Club golf course. The suspects were described as white males between the ages of 18 and 25.

“We weren’t able to locate those individuals but we were able to recover some of the property that had been taken,” Shanks said.

Several police officers searched property around the golf course, retrieving property that the burglars had dropped in a wooded area.

Officers were still looking for a black bicycle and a silver laptop, among other stolen items.
