Police investigating rape on KU campus

Police have investigated a rape reported on the Kansas University campus late last week.

The victim told KU Public Safety Officers on March 20 that the incident occurred in the Jayhawk Towers Apartments, 1603 W. 15th St., between 10:30 p.m. on March 14 and 8 a.m. March 15, said KU Public Safety Capt. Schuyler Bailey. The victim said she was sexually assaulted by a male acquaintance and was incapable of giving consent at the time, according the police report.

No arrests had been made Thursday, but Bailey said police have a suspect and the case is open.
