Kansas University’s NCAA Indoor runner-up women’s track team was ranked as the preseason No. 1 outdoor team, the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Tuesday. The KU women finished fourth at last season’s NCAA Outdoor Championships.

The Jayhawks begin the outdoor portion of their season on March 27 at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
