— Douglas County's state senators recorded perfect attendance during the 2013 legislative session.

That includes state Sens. Marci Francisco, of Lawrence, Tom Holland, of Baldwin City, and Anthony Hensley, of Topeka, whose district includes a portion of Douglas County. All three are Democrats.

Fourteen of the state's 40 senators achieved perfect attendance, according to Senate records.

What a pathetic accolade. Senator Hensley issues this faint praise each year, as though "showing up" had anything to do with discharging one's duty to exercise legislative leadership -- especially as members of the minority party. Woody Allen may said that "Eighty percent of success is showing up," but no one believes that 100% showing up is success.

I'd say that showing up and having to be exposed to the outrageously offensive drivel emanating from the dominant party and to maintain civility without flying into a blind rage deserves serious accolades. what about paul davis?

As one might infer from his title, hedshrinker, Representative Davis does not sit in the Senate. His attendance record is therefore out of the scope of this article.

Touche, didn't pay attention to the headline, so assumed they were discussing all of the Lawrence/Douglas Ct delegation, not just the Senate. I knew when I wrote that there was something off, but again, missed the headline Thanks for the correction.
