KU swimming adds four signees

Kansas University’s swimming and diving program has signed three swimmers and one diver to national letters of intent, KU coach Clark Campbell announced Friday.

The four athletes in the 2013 spring signing class are swimmers Léa Wissocq (Dunkirk, France), Pia Pavlic (Medvode, Slovenia) and Yuldoz Kuchkarova (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) and diver Amanda Maser (Trinity, Fla./J.W. Mitchell).

“All four are going to make an immediate impact on the program,” Campbell said. “We’re really excited to have them on board.”

Wissocq, Pavlic and Kuchkarova all are members of their respective national teams and have competed at European or World Championships.

“There’s definitely an international flavor to the four who signed,” Campbell said, “and their competitive international experience is only going to help make our team be better.”

The lone American and diver, Maser, is a Florida state finalist who dove with new KU diving coach Brian Pritt at his Tennessee diving camps.
