Topeka Zoo to host Lawrence Day

July 25, 2013

The Topeka Zoological Park will host Lawrence Day Saturday. Lawrence residents will receive half price admission to the park with proof of Lawrence residency.

There will be Alligator presentations, animal chats and tours throughout the day. The 105th Lawrence resident to enter the zoo will win a behind the scenes tour of the African Lion Exhibit, according to the zoo.

The park will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with final admission at 4:30 p.m. To receive the Lawrence discount residents must present a government issued photo ID with a Lawrence address or a utility bill that can be matched to a government issued ID. A student or school ID from a Lawrence school will also be accepted. Other Gage Park attractions will also offer half-price admission, including Kansas Children’s Discovery Center, Gage Park Mini Train, Carousel in the Park and Blaisdell Family Aquatic Center.

I hate that I have to answer questions to read articles, and completely lie out of spite.

LJWorld print edition is only $17 a month, delivered. No questions to answer.

well until they print it on hemp paper, i'll keep my $17 a month.

Would you rather pay money to read the online edition?

I imagine you'll need to bring a utility bill or something with your name and residence address on it in addition to that ID since they require proof of Lawrence residency.

In the spirit of Lawrence, here's a list of items they need for donations, too.

answering the question over the alternative of paying is an easy choice, just wish google would at least get their internet and TV to Lawrence sooner because of it.

Pressure City Hall. Google will only come if the city puts in another proposal. Right now Wicked Broadband is trying to bork it up with a copycat proposal.

While Im no fan of Topeka, there are worse arm-pits in KS than Topeka.

That zoo keeps losing its accreditation due to mistreatment of the animals. I wonder if they finally cleaned up their act?

Don't fall for it! This is clearly an attempt to round up the people of Lawrence into one large fenced in location, replete with wild animals, to eliminate the last blue spot in the state from the map.
