Lawrence police detectives do not suspect foul play in the death of a man who suffered a knife wound Wednesday at a house in the 1800 block of Haskell Avenue, Sgt. Trent McKinley, a Lawrence Police Department spokesman, said.
When police and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical responded to the home about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, they found a man with a knife wound to his chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police made their determination that no foul play was involved after examining evidence and interviewing people who were at the house at the time the man was injured, McKinley said.
No further details about the incident were released Thursday.

Maybe I've been watching too many "48 hours," but the police made that decision without further investigation, like, say, an autopsy?
I recall that it was the autopsy that brought to light the fact that Martin Miller's wife had been murdered.

Police detectives could investigate more if other evidence, such as the results of a coroner's report, give them cause. They are just saying the investigation so far leads them to think there was no foul play. Unless it becomes a criminal investigation, they aren't likely to release more details. Ian LJW

Any idea when his name or age might be released? I have someone I'm worried about & no way to contact him.

The only thing I can recommend is to contact Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical. Unless something changes, that information won't be made public. Ian LJW
