Lawrence police briefly chased a vehicle on East 15th street before calling off the pursuit.

Lawrence Police Capt. Bill Cory said that police received a call at 7:08 p.m. of a possible drunken driver heading toward Lawrence on Kansas Highway 10. Police intercepted the vehicle, a White Lexus ES 300, on East 15th street. The driver refused to stop and led police on a short chase before police called off the chase because of excessive speeds. The driver was headed east out of Lawrence.
