To our readers: website problems

January 18, 2013

The World Company websites, including, and, have experienced some technical problems the past few days.

Our websites were down for a couple hours this morning, but were back up by 9:30 a.m.

We're working to correct these issues, and apologize for the inconvenience. On a related note, the sites are scheduled for maintenance Monday evening, and accessibility to them may be limited at that time.

Your website is just about all you've got left, World Co - might want to make sure it actually works.

Yeah!!! Those couple hours of not having to listen to liberals complain about everything in Lawrence was tough... What would we ever do if a free service stopped??? We know they won't want to pay for it!!! Give me a break!!!

You've got that backwards. It's not the liberals that hate everything about Lawrence.

And y'all hate everyone who hates everyone who hates everyone.....leading to that most famous of all defense strategies of the cold war: Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD)

Thanks for the reminder!

too many free loadrers logging on to whine about how bad the ljw is,

Ironic you felt compelled to log on to whine about whining freeloaders. Yours is a recurrent theme somewhat akin to the LJW's server issues. Their's however can be corrected...

So Shaun, do all the reporters have to draw straws and whoever gets the short one has to post these notices under his or her name? Thanks for keeping us informed, and for keeping this service FREE (unlike other newspapers to the west of Lawrence.)

What's up with the ads on the left side hiding part of the text of the story?

Have you tried holding the Control key down and scrolling the wheel on your mouse?

uh, there's a continuing technical problem with the LjW site: the frontpage fails to display properly the reader blogs under "Community Perspectives."
I hope this bug will soon be corrected.

also, there seems to be a virus called Merrill that infects LJWorld, too, it spams the threads.
