KU sets records at home track meet

Kansas broke three facility records Friday at the Jayhawk Challenge inside Anschutz Pavilion.

Pole vaulter Natalia Bartnovskaya cleared 4.29 meters (14-0.75 ft.), an NCAA season-leading mark and an inch off from tying the school record.

Andrea Geubelle made 6.25 meters in the long jump, breaking the Anschutz facility record by more than four inches and giving her an NCAA-leading mark.

Kyle Clemons ran a 1:09.77 in the 600-yards to break a 17-year-old facility record of 1:09.91 and set the nation’s leading time.

Diamond Dixon posted a time of 1:22.69 in the 600-yards, best in the nation this season. In the 4x400-meter relay team, Denesha Morris, Alisha Keys, Paris Daniels and Dixon came from behind to win in 3:44.93.

Jessica Maroszek notched her first shot put win of the season. The junior out of Seymour, Wis., started her day strong with a toss of 49-4 1/4.

Senior Francine Simpson impressed in the first triple jump competition of her career when she leaped to a mark of 40-8.57.
