A quantity of methamphetamine and a gun were seized, and a 26-year-old man was arrested on drug charges Friday morning at a house in the 600 block of East Lake Street in McLouth.

Landon Stevenson, of McLouth, was arrested on suspicion of possession and distribution of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia after McLouth police, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, and an entry team from the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at the house about 8:30 a.m. Friday.

McLouth police obtained the search warrant after responding to a burglary at another location the night before, said McLouth Police Chief Marcus Koch. That investigation included the arrest of another McLouth man on a drug possession charge and led officers to the house on East Lake Street.

"That's been a place of interest to the McLouth Police Department for a while," Koch said.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has not released information about the quantity of drugs or the type of gun seized.

Stevenson remains in the Jefferson County Jail. A second man arrested at the house on Friday, Kenneth McAfee, 45, was booked into the jail on an unrelated Shawnee County warrant and has been released on bond.

Are you kidding me - criminals are able to get their hands on guns? God - I hope it wasn't an "assault rifle." Joe Biden and Obama are going to fix that so we'll never again be reading about criminals/gang members, etc. having or using guns.

There are 300 million guns out in the population in this country and I saw a fool this morning (Democrat Senator from Connecticut) who said he wants stiff legal restrictions that limit how much ammunition a law abiding citizen can purchase, and he wants it to be illegal for anyone in this country to buy even a single bullet without first going through a FBI background check.

In other words, Farmer Jones from Iola, Kansas would have to go through a FBI background check to buy a box of 22 cartridges! This guy is a certified blithering left wing loon (emphasis on Loon) and is incredibly a sitting United Staes Senator!

You mean Gary Farmer? Yea, he is a lost cause just like all the other meth heads. Gary Farmer, one to definitely lock up and throw away the key. He is alleged to commit more crimes in this county than any one else. Somehow he keeps getting released on bond, just to go and commit additional crimes and/or get busted for possession again.

I noticed a Gary Freeman on Jeff Co jail log booked into jail around the same time with the same charges. Interesting.
