Veritas girls fall in Braymer tourney

? Veritas Christian fell behind by 14 points in the first quarter and absorbed a 58-29 high school girls basketball loss to Braymer (Mo.) on Thursday night in the Braymer Invitational.

Alison Dover had nine points and nine rebounds for Veritas, and Kristen Finger had nine points and eight rebounds.

Veritas committed 20 turnovers in the first half and trailed 38-15 at halftime.

“The first half did us in,” Veritas coach Kevin Shelton said.

Veritas (6-4) will play in the third-place game against Tina-Avalon at 8 tonight.
