Lawrence woman arrested for burglary, theft of terrier
A 45-year-old Lawrence woman was arrested Thursday on suspicion of burglary in connection with the Dec. 3 theft of a Yorkshire terrier and other property from an apartment in the 2400 block of Melrose Lane.
Marzetta Leezan Yarbrough was arrested in the 3600 block of East 25th Street and booked into the Douglas County Jail about 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The Lawrence Police Department report on the Dec. 3 burglary recorded the theft of a coffee table, shelves, an antique lamp, and the Yorkshire terrier, which was valued at $2,500.
Yarbrough, who is listed as living at the address where the crime was reported, has been arrested but not yet charged. She remained in jail Thursday with bond set at $1,500.
