The Big 12 conference released the following statement Tuesday afternoon following Kansas' 108-96 overtime victory over Iowa State on Monday night in Ames, Iowa.

The Big 12 Conference acknowledges that officiating errors were made at the end of regulation during last night's Kansas at Iowa State men's basketball game. The plays have been reviewed and appropriate measures will be taken by the Coordinator of Men's Basketball Officials to adjust the number of future assignments for the two officials involved in conjunction with Conference policies.

With 6 seconds left in regulation and KU trailing, 90-88, Jayhawks point guard Elijah Johnson drove to the lane and made contact with Iowa State player Georges Niang. No foul was called on the play, and Niang was later whistled for a loose-ball foul against Johnson, who hit two free throws with 4.9 seconds remaining to send the game to overtime.

KU (24-4, 12-3 Big 12) is tied with Kansas State atop the conference standings.

It's Hilton Magic! Officiating errors were made throughout the game. If they're going to review calls at the end, they need to review them all. For example, the charging call on Withey when Niang was not set. He was sliding and twisting and turning. Time to enlarge the restricted area under the basket? Too many bang bang plays on layups where a defender comes flying in at the last second attempting to establish position. Very rarely are they ever completely set and in a legal guarding position.

The officials were horrible the whole game. They shouldn't focus just on the last few seconds. The charge called against Withey was far worse than the no call at the end.

We were impacted by the refs too because our 3 seniors had 3 or 4 fouls early in the second half. Iowa State crowd was serious whiners.

Its too bad a good game has to be disected over one or two calls, when there were many. The student body there booed about every play all night. What poor loosers. At least KU fans know how to loose without throwing things at other teams. No one can beat KU fans win or loose, they still are proud of their team!

That statement is very misleading as mistakes were made earlier and not all against one team. ISU shot more free throws had fewer fouls so that is to be considered as 3 point shots usually do not get fouled. Surely someone with access to replay will go over the entire game and point out various calls that were questionable. The only verified mistake I remember was calling a foul on Young should have been on Withey. I don't buy the so called charge call on Johnson as being definite.

There we bad calls both ways all game. 2 out of 3 refs were constently bad all game. EJ was being hacked going to the goal. Niang was not set. Niang mugged EJ after he fell down.

Refs are human and are not perfect. Get off your couch without Instant replay, slow-mo DVR and stupid ESPN announcers that probably were lucky to play basketball in 5th grade and try to do a better job.

As much as I love it, It's only a game and there are more important things in life!

Thank you EJ and others (Withey, Young Releford, Ellis) that came to play for playing some awesome basketball!
