Veritas girls win finale

? Tori Huslig had 12 points and five assists, and Naomi Hickman had four points, seven blocks and 10 rebounds as Veritas Christian School’s girls basketball team overcame a slow start to beat Flint Hills Christian, 41-20, in its regular-season finale on Saturday.

Kristen Finger added four points and seven rebounds for the Eagles, who rallied from an early 10-8 lead to win handily.

The Eagles, seeded sixth, will face third-seeded Topeka Cair Paravel in a first-round state tournament game at 2 p.m. Thursday in Junction City.
