Kansas tennis rolls over Denver, 6-1

Kansas University lost just one singles match and one doubles match in a 6-1 tennis victory over Denver on Sunday at Jayhawk Tennis Center.

“Having our first match of the season under our belt was definitely a plus,” KU coach Amy Hall-Holt said. “We had a few ups and downs with a few things, but other than that, I felt the girls came out with a lot of confidence and played with a lot of heart. We’re pretty excited about being 2-0 through the weekend.”

Maria Jose Cardona (No. 2), Maria Belen Ludueña (No. 3), Paulina Los (No. 4), Dylan Windom (No. 5) and Claire Dreyer (No. 6) claimed singles victories for KU. Windom-Cardona won at No. 1 doubles, and Los-Ludueña won at No. 3 doubles.

KU will host Tulsa on Sunday.
