The Kansas University orchestra and choirs delivered another stellar holiday program at the Lied Center on Sunday.

Congratulations to the hundreds of Kansas University students and faculty members who presented the 89th annual “Holiday Vespers” Sunday at the Lied Center.

It was a great program with a variety of musical offerings, ranging from “The Nutcracker Overture” to “For Unto Us a Child is Born.” The audience got an opportunity to sing along to “White Christmas,” “Let It Snow” and “Auld Lang Syne.” The concert also featured “Autumn Soliloquy” and “Amen/Go Tell It On The Mountain,” which was arranged by the director of KU choirs, Paul Tucker, and featured soloists Addison Baxter, Christopher Smith, James Davidson and Vince Gnojek.

The KU Symphony Orchestra and KU choirs showcased the talents of students as well as the leadership and directing skills of Tucker, Sharon Toulouse and Mariana Farah.

Holiday Vespers, which used to be known as Christmas Vespers, often is described as the university’s Christmas card to the community. Those who attended Sunday’s performance were treated to another installment of a treasured KU tradition.
