The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch early this morning for north-central and east-central Kansas until 1 p.m.
Moderate to heavy rain over the past couple days has saturated the ground, so additional rainfall may result in flash flooding. The weather service expects more showers tonight into Friday morning.
A flash flood watch means flooding is possible but not imminent. The NWS advises residents in affected areas to be prepared and ready for quick action should flooding occur.

Does that make sense that the flash flood watch is this morning, if the rain isn't expected until this afternoon?
