KU women in eighth place at Big 12 golf

? Kansas University sophomore Minami Levonowich shot a KU career-low 73 (+1) and junior Meghan Potee 75 to lead the Jayhawks on the second day of the Big 12 Women’s Golf Championship on Saturday at The Harvester Golf Club.

Kansas fell from fifth to eighth place. The Jayhawks hold a two-day total 626 (+50) heading into today’s final round.

Baylor leads the nine-team field with a two-round 605 (+29), one stroke ahead of host Iowa State (606) and Oklahoma State (606). Kansas is two strokes behind seventh-place Texas (624) and 30 shots ahead of ninth-place Kansas State (656).

Levonowich carded two birdies and three bogies on the front nine Saturday. The Houston native then recorded nine pars on the back nine to shoot KU’s low round of the day. Levonowich and Yupaporn Kawinpakorn are tied for 11th at 153 (+9) in the 45-golfer field. Kawinpakorn shot a 77 on Saturday.
