KU softball’s Maggie Hull selected in pro draft

Kansas University senior softball outfielder Maggie Hull was selected 11th overall by the Chicago Bandits in the National Pro Fastpitch College Draft, held Monday night in Nashville, Tenn.

Hull, a Lawrence native and graduate of Free State High School, is the fourth pro player from KU and the highest draft pick in school history.

Hull is KU’s career leader in batting average at .366 and leads the Big 12 this season with an average of .490.

“The feeling right now is completely unreal,” Hull said. “To be watching (the broadcast) and hear them talk about me is just unbelievable. We’re so focused on building the Kansas softball program and that’s been my goal over the past four years and to know that’s been getting national attention is just unreal.
