KU soccer falls at Baylor, 1-0

? Baylor forward Lisa Sliwinski’s goal with just over four minutes remaining in regulation broke a scoreless tie and lifted the Bears to a 1-0 Big 12 Conference soccer triumph over No. 23 Kansas on Friday at the Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field.

KU fell to 7-3-1 overall, 1-1 in the Big 12. Baylor improved to 10-1-2 and 1-0-1.

In the 86th minute, Sliwinski found the back of the net after a breakaway down the far sideline. The senior midfielder gathered a loose ball 35 yards away from goal, slashed towards the box and fired a shot into the top left corner of the goal from 10 yards out.

KU sophomore goalkeeper Kaitlyn Stroud made eight saves, while Kansas withstood 23 shots by Baylor, allowing just the one goal.

The Jayhawks will face TCU at 1 p.m. Sunday in Fort Worth, Texas.
