From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for Sept. 29, 1972:
- A computer system described as "overworked" and "overloaded" was responsible for the delay in availability of final enrollment numbers at Kansas University. William L. Kelly, KU registrar, said today that he couldn't compile his report until receiving final data from the Computation Center, which was apparently struggling with an overabundance of data and not enough processing power.
- Two additional alumni had been chosen to serve on the campus advisory committee which was to help select the new chancellor for KU. According to the KU Alumni Association, Dr. Ned W. Smull of Shawnee Mission and Roy A. Edwards Jr. of Kansas City were to serve on the committee.
