13th and Tennessee accident
Crews responded to a one-vehicle accident at 13th and Tennessee streets Tuesday at about 3:45 p.m. A car hit a tree, and the driver required extrication by emergency workers. Enlarge video
A 23-year-old Leawood man was extricated from a car Tuesday afternoon following a one-vehicle accident on Tennessee Street, just south of 13th Street.
The accident occurred about 3:40 p.m. The car, a four-door Ford, hit a tree on the east side of the road.
The person was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center, according to emergency dispatch workers.
Lawrence Police Sgt. Trent McKinley said it's unclear at this time why the man's car left the roadway.
Emergency crews shut down Tennessee Street at 12th Street during the accident.

Bullwinkles is not open during the day on Tuesday. I'm not sure if they are even open at night. Lots of eye candy on that street though.

Maybe he swerved to avoid hitting someone on a bicycle who doesn't understand the rules of the road, or someone stepped out into the street without looking. There are all kinds of other explanations besides being drunk. Give it a rest.
