Kansas tennis players advance at KU Invitational

Kansas University freshman Maria Jose Cardona remained undefeated in singles play after the second day of the KU Invitational, Saturday at the Jayhawk Tennis Center.

Cardona was one of six Jayhawks to advance to the finals of their respective singles draws. Cardona and junior Haley Fournier were also the only KU doubles partners without a loss, winning both of their matches Saturday.

KU senior Monica Pezzotti was injured during her first match with doubles partner Dylan Windom. The pair were forced to take fourth place in their draw, and Pezzotti also defaulted her semifinal singles match.

The KU Invitational will continue at 9 a.m. today.
