Lawrence man arrested on sex-crime charges

Lawrence police arrested a 31-year-old Lawrence man Friday on several sex-crime charges, including attempted rape, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated battery and criminal restraint, according to Lawrence Police Sgt. Trent McKinley.

The original criminal complaint was made Aug. 20, and detectives conducted numerous interviews before arresting the suspect, who was working out Friday at the Lawrence Community Building, 111 W. 11th St., McKinley said.

Bond has not yet been set, and the suspect has not yet been formally charged.

The Journal-World typically does not name sex-crime suspects unless they are convicted.
