KU student faces trial in robbery case
Douglas County Judge Paula Martin ruled Thursday that a 19-year-old Kansas University student should stand trial on four counts of attempted aggravated robbery.
Jaden M. Mackey is accused of approaching four people on a porch in the 1100 block of Tennessee Street on Sept. 1 and demanding money. The victims in the case said the suspect was wearing a mask and held a pocketknife behind his back.
The victims refused to give the suspect any money, and the suspect fled. Police arrested Mackey a short time later in the 1400 block of Ohio Street.
Mackey is being held at the Douglas County Jail on a $15,000 bond, and a jury trial is set for Nov. 13.
