Kansas University senior Whitney Berry claimed first-team All-Big 12 honors, junior Caroline Kastor and sophomore Jamie Fletcher earned second-team honors on Monday. Freshman Ashley Williams was named to the All-Big 12 Newcomer Team.

Berry, of Wichita, was named to the second team 2010 and 2011. The senior midfielder started all 19 matches this season, compiling six goals and seven assists. Berry is the active Big 12 leader in career points (78), assists (32) and shots (266).

Kastor and Fletcher are first-time selections. Kastor, also of Wichita, led the team in goals this season and ranked third individually in the conference with 11. She led the Big 12 in game-winning goals with five.

Fletcher, a product of Albuquerque, N.M., had three goals and six assists.

Williams is the fourth KU freshman in the last four seasons to be named to the Newcomer Team. She was a three-time Big 12 player of the week this season and scored eight goals, including two game-winning goals.

Kansas concluded its regular season last weekend with a 10-7-2 overall record. The Jayhawks are the sixth seed at the Big 12 Soccer Championship this week, set to take on third-seeded Texas Tech on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in San Antonio.
