Thanksgiving day 5K run/walk: runLawrence will host the ninth-annual holiday run on Nov. 22 starting again from Woodlawn School. The Road Runners Club of America has designated the 5K as the state championship, with top runners getting special awards. But the run remains open to all runners and walkers. Henrickson basketball clinic: The ninth annual Bonnie Henrickson Basketball Coaching Clinic will be held Oct. 21 at Allen Fieldhouse. Henrickson, Kansas University’s women’s basketball coach, and her staff will hold an on-court skill demonstration followed by a Rock Chalk Talk on defensive and offensive concepts. Turkey Trot: Lawrence Parks & Recreation Department is accepting registrations for the 37th-annual Turkey Trot 5K Run to be held Nov. 3 on the campus of Haskell Indian Nations University. Registration fee is $20, $25 the day of the race. WOW Run: Body Boutique’s annual WOW Run 5K to benefit Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build will be at 8 a.m., Nov. 3. The race will start at Body Boutique and wind through the surrounding neighborhoods. The course is newly USATF Certified. The run is open to men, women and children.
