Kansas University Youth Chorus has begun its eighth year.

The choir, for children in fourth through eighth grades, was created to provide a singing experience for youths and offer KU undergraduate and graduate music education majors opportunities to enhance their conducting and rehearsal skills.

Rehearsals began Thursday, but children interested in participating may still join this week. Auditions are not required.

Rehearsals, which continue through early May, take place from 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Thursdays at Room 328 in Murphy Hall.

The cost of membership is $60 for the year.
