A 24-year-old Osawatomie man was arrested after he ran his car into a ditch late Tuesday near the intersection of Kansas Highway 10 and U.S. Highway 59, or Iowa Street.
Jonathan Michael Barbosa was charged with driving while intoxicated, having an open container and no proof of liability insurance, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Barbosa was traveling eastbound in a 2004 Honda and failed to merge onto the off ramp leading to U.S. 59, according to a sheriff’s department accident report.
The vehicle hit a reflector, overcorrected to the right, went into a skid, hit a post and then skidded down an embankment until it stopped in the ditch, the report said.
Barbosa initially declined medical treatment, but then was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.

This man's blood is on the hands of the tree-huggers who stopped construction of the east leg of the SLT.

Balderdash! This accident was the result of driving while intoxicated. Why must some people try to blame the road for every accident?

Please read my blog, Name That Baby. Thank you.
See, my thing is, why would anyone think that someone with a few, or a lot, of drinks in them is going to be sensible? Reminds me of a Mickey Gilley song from way back about how he went to the bar looking for a ten and went home with a one and swore he'd never do it again. Right!
