From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for Nov. 20, 1987:

The Kansas Board of Regents this week eliminated a reciprocal tuition agreement that had allowed Missouri architecture students to pay resident rates while attending Kansas schools. The agreement had been in place because no Missouri state universities offered architecture programs. In return, Kansas dentistry students had been permitted to pay resident rates to attend the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry. However, effective fall 1988, Missouri students entering architecture schools at Kansas University or Kansas State University were to pay non-resident fees. The recommendation to drop the tuition arrangement had come about because of the disparity in the amount of money paid for the tuition privileges, with many more Missouri residents making use of the resident fees.
