Lawrence man pleads guilty to making a criminal threat involving a gun

A 57-year-old Lawrence man pleaded guilty Wednesday to making a criminal threat. He was accused of menacing a Lawrence resident with a gun during a dispute two weeks ago, according to the Douglas County District Attorney’s office.

Christopher J. Gorman was arrested Oct. 26 after a man flagged down a patrol car and told officers Gorman had threatened him with a gun during an argument. When officers knocked on Gorman’s door in the 1300 block of Kentucky Street, he answered it with a .357 magnum revolver in his hand and was arrested.

Gorman also pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana. He is scheduled to be sentenced at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 13.
