A Lawrence parent contacted police early Monday, just after midnight, to report that an adult in another state had texted pictures of a sexual nature to the parent’s pre-teen child, according to Lawrence Police Sgt. Trent McKinley.

The suspect in the case is not known to the family, and police are working to identify the individual who sent the messages.
