A 51-year-old Lawrence woman led police on a vehicle chase twice in two days.

After calling off chases Friday and Saturday, Lawrence police arrested the woman Sunday at her home.

Lawrence Police Sgt. Kirk Fultz said the woman was wanted on a battery charge, which led to the police pursuits. The chase on Saturday occurred around 4 p.m. near the area of Iowa and 31st streets, Fultz said.

The woman was booked into Douglas County Jail on charges of fleeing/attempting to elude police, reckless driving, and driving while suspended. No bond has been set.

What makes this one more notable than the two other DV arrests of males ....one with an additional count of criminal damage to property....only DV was charged for her..not one word about eluding or chases in the arrest record....

There is no problem with her DV charge being in the news but why just her and one other staff posted DV on a female in Eudora?

luck of 1) the time of day, 2) the day of week, 3) level of staffing that day, and 4) competing news events

Things which are news on one day, may not rise to any importance, or get bumped by other news, on the very next day.

Smitty, I'm not sure I quite understand what you're saying?

DV arrests do not usually make it into our paper. This one was for the fleeing police charges, which are on the jail log. Sometimes this gets in there, and this one especially since she got away twice in past day.
