Woman eludes police twice, arrested Sunday at her home

A 51-year-old Lawrence woman led police on a vehicle chase twice in two days.

After calling off chases Friday and Saturday, Lawrence police arrested the woman Sunday at her home.

Lawrence Police Sgt. Kirk Fultz said the woman was wanted on a battery charge, which led to the police pursuits. The chase on Saturday occurred around 4 p.m. near the area of Iowa and 31st streets, Fultz said.

The woman was booked into Douglas County Jail on charges of fleeing/attempting to elude police, reckless driving, and driving while suspended. No bond has been set.
