Mountain biking: Two Lawrence residents placed in a 50-mile Syllamo’s Revenge mountain bike race last weekend in Arkansas. Aaron Elwell won the race with a course record of 4 hours, 18 minutes. Jason Knight took third in 4 hours, 31 minutes.
Clark hole-in-one: Marissa Clark fired a hole-in-one Sunday at Lawrence Country Club in her first-ever 18-hole round. She used an 8-iron to ace the 105-yard No. 17 hole. Witnesses were her husband, John Clark, and her son, Trevor Clark.
Evans hole-in-one: Bill Evans posted a hole-in-one Tuesday at Alvamar. He used a 7-iron from the white tees on the 130-yard No. 12 hole. Witnesses were Norm Slade and Ed Carter.
Horseshoe results: Wynne Mihura took first place in the champion class of the Wynne Mihura Open on Saturday at Broken Arrow Park in Lawrence. Marden fast half: Kate Marden, a 1999 graduate of Lawrence High, competed in the Marine Corps Historic Half-Marathon May 20 in Fredericksburg, Va. She finished second among 2,892 women finishers with a time of 1:26:44. She also finished 39th among all 6,002 finishers.
